Dalystown National School
Dalystown National School is a 5 teacher school in the parish of Rochfortbridge, Co. Westmeath, approximately 7 miles from Mullingar. The catchment area of the school is broad.
In 1902 Dalystown National School was built to replace the old school at Kilbride which was burned down at the turn of the century. It served the Meedin, Clonfad, Carrick, Cloneyheigue and Dalystown area. There were 27 boys and 23 girls on the roll on the first day of opening. A lot has changed in the years between then and now!
- There are 106 children enrolled in the school this year (2017-2018) from 64 families. Our new school was completed in Easter 2006 with full facilities.
- Accommodation consists of 4 classrooms and a GP room that is currently used as a classroom. The school is wheelchair accessible and fully alarmed. Local community Groups use the school facilities on a regular basis.
- The school was officially opened on December 15th 2006.
